Ans-Review of the film-'SHOLAY'

Title of the film-SHOLAY

From the last five decades, the film 'Sholay' is known as a hit film in Bollywood. There are various elements that have made this movie blockbuster in the film industry. Sholay is considered a classic and one of the best Indian films.

The film 'Sholay' was produced by G. P. Shippy and directed by Ramesh Shippy. This adventure film is written by well-known duo of Hindi Salim-Javed who are also famous for the films like Deewar, Mr. India, Zanjeer etc. The music maestro is R. D. Burman for the songs in this film and the lyrics were written by Anand Baksi.  The song 'Ye Dosti' has everlasting memory for the fans of this film.

All the events in this film are well-arranged and told systematically. Definitely, one event leads to another episode smoothly throughout the film. The retired police officer (Sanjeev Kumar) with the help of Veeru (Dharmendra) and Jai (Amitabh Bachhan) tries to capture the ruthless dacoit Gabbar Singh (Amjad Khan). Hema Malini as Basanti and Jaya Bahaduri as Radha play vital roles in the story of this film. Soorma Bhopali's Bhopali accent and jailer's comic way of communication really make us laugh in this film.

The film Sholay was shot in Ramnagara, in the southern state Karnataka, over the span of two and half year having the length of 198 minutes.

When realized how much Thakur has suffered from Gabbar, Veeru and Jai decide not to take money as a reward and promise Thakur of capturing Gabbar alive. All characters including Sambha and Kalia performed well in this film. Amjad Khan after performed as Gabbar , a villainous character, he gained a lot of popularity.

The film 'Sholay' is really well-directed and being a perfect fusion of varied cinematic element, this film owes commendable cinematography.

Inclusively, the film Sholay is first rate movie.

Ans-Review of the film 'Baghban'

Title of the film-BAGHBAN

Before two decades,  Hindi film named 'Baghban' was released on 3 October 2003. This film is not a portrayal of any individual but it is about the conflict between the past and future in the life of all old parents. The film depicts the realistic picture of weary shoulders and trembling hands of old parents with which their children learnt how to walk. The film also throws light on how the generation gap affects the relationships between old parents and their children.

In fact, the idea for the film Baghban came to producer B. R. Chopra during his tour across Europe in the 1960s when he stayed at a hotel next to a retirement house. Therefore the story of this film was written by B. R. Chopra and directed by his son Ravi Chopra. Aadesh Shrivastav composed the soundtrack for this film and lyrics were written by Sameer. The story of the film was written by B. R. Chopra along with co-writers Achala Nagar, Satish Bhatnagar, Ram Govind and Shafiq Ansari.

The story or plot of the film revolves around the family of Raj Malhotra(Amitabh Bachhan) his wife, Pooja (Hema Malini) who have been married for 40 years. After retirement, Raj and Pooja want to lead their life with their four sons Ajay, Sanjay, Rohit and Karan. They also have adopted son Alok (Salman Khan) who marries Arpita (Mahima Chaudhary). Their sons want to split them and think they may refuse the offer but Raj and Pooja accept to live with them separately. After receiving poor treatment from their sons, both write each other about pain their separation has caused. Finally, they leave the house and when their sons ask their parents to forgive them but Raj and Pooja refused to do so. However, Alok helps them before the publication of the Raj's book 'Baghban'. All the events and episode in this film are skillfully interwoven altogether.

When Chopra revived it, principal photography began in July 2002 in Film City with cinematographer Barun Mukharjee.

As a whole, the director has been successful in coming with good performances from the lead actors. The film has definite moral. The children should remember what struggle, hard work their parents went through to make their sons' lives happy, comfortable and successful. The film also makes us aware of the fact that children should always respect and love old parents and be often grateful to them for what they have done for them.
